Maritz awarded CSR case study prize

14th August, 2008 – Performance improvement company Maritz is delighted to announce that it has been awarded Eventia’s CSR (corporate and social responsibility) case study prize. Announced at the recent Eventia Summer Conference, case studies were required to demonstrate how the organisation reduced its carbon-usage and made significant and measurable changes to the way the business is run. The submissions were judged by the CSR working party and Hugo Kimber of the Carbon Consultancy.

Maritz’ case study detailed the actions undertaken by the agency following a carbon audit and includes recycling measures, energy, water and waste-reduction plus initiatives including an audit of employees’ travel methods to work and a staff incentive around energy-efficient measures.

Aileen Reuter, Director of Marketing, Maritz and Eventia Board member for CSR, was awarded a special commendation for her work spearheading the Eventia CSR committee, notably developing the One Future initiative and the recently launched online CSR micro-site. Reuter was awarded a pair of Leisure Select return tickets on Eurostar.

Aileen commented: “At Maritz we are very proud of the changes we have implemented to reduce our carbon-usage and the results achieved over the past year. I am delighted that we have won recognition for our efforts and hope they encourage other organisations to follow suit.”
